    Robert James Lilley: a baker and pastry cook at Woburn. On 7 December he had some loaves in his window. He went to his neighbour’s house and on returning home saw a disturbance about his shop. He was informed some persons had broken his windows and taken some bread away. He counted the loaves and missed 2 half quarten loaves, the value of 9 pence. PC Anthony Sibley: he was on duty and saw the prisoners, who were strangers, in town. They were standing by the prosecutor’s shop and looking in the window. He watched as they broke the window and immediately went up to them and took them into custody. They had 2 half quarten loaves in their hands which they divided between them. He advised the prosecutor of what had taken place. Statements of the accused: nothing to say.
