    reciting marriage articles 11 April 1685 of a) Thomas Baines b) John Burroughs and John Lilliott before the marriage of Thomas Baynes and Mary Lilliott, by which a) covenanted to purchase freehold land of the yearly value of £50 to be settled to uses, i.e. to the use of a) for life, then to the use of Mary for life, then to the use of their joint heirs, in default to the right heirs of Thomas Baines. b) were to pay a) £850 as marriage portion.
