- Scope and ContentAlbert Ankins: a manager at the Star Tea Company shop, 31 George Street, Luton. On 2 June about 5pm, the 18 towels were inside the shop against the door. On Monday he missed them. They were afterwards shown to him by PC Chamberlain and he identified them as his property. There were valued at 9 shillings. PC Charles Chamberlain: he searched the prisoner’s house and in the back room he found 18 towels. He charged the prisoner with stealing them from the Star Tea Shop. The prisoner replied she had bought and paid for them. Statement of the accused: nothing to say.
