- Scope and ContentHenry Durrant: an assistant to Edwin Deacon at his fancy warehouse in Wellington Street, Luton. On Saturday 2 June about 10pm he saw 3 pictures standing in his master’s shop. About 10 minutes later he missed them. On Monday he was shown the pictures by the police and he identified them as his master’s property. PC Charles Chamberlain: on 2 June he searched the prisoner’s house. In the back kitchen he found the pictures. He charged the prisoner with stealing them and she replied she had bought them at Mr Deacons. Statement of the accused: nothing to say.
