    Photocopies of letters of 22599 Private Henry Ernest Mortimer of 104 Spring Road, Kempston who was killed on the Western Front on 20 November 1917 while serving with the 8th battalion Bedfordshire Regiment. Henry Mortimer wrote quite detailed letters to his parents and other relatives every few days describing his life in the army and sometimes his feelings about the war and the international situation.
