- Scope and ContentThomas Stuart: he had an enclosed garden at the rear of his house. He believed the hammer produced to be the hammer he missed on 10th or 11th September. His apples were safe on 10 September and the following morning he missed them upon examining his garden. He identified the apples shown to him by detective Chamberlain as his property. William Chamberlain: from information he searched the prisoner’s house in Old Bedford Road. He found a quantity of apples in the closet and some apples and pears under canton matting in the prisoner’s garden. The prosecutor identified them as his property. The prisoner said he knew nothing about them. Statement of the accused: nothing to say.
