    Reciting that in 1279 a plea was moved before the Justices of the Lord King, Sir Robert Fulcone and Sir Robert Malet at Leytone, in a cause between the Abbot of Wardon and the prior and convent of Caudewelle on the one side, defendants, and Nicholas Blauncoste of Bydenham, plaintiff, concerning ... common of pasture in the same village by a writ of novel disseys. The defendants claim that the jury gave false evidence before Sir Ralph de Hengeham and Sir Peter Loreng Agreement by Sir Ralph Passelewe and his free tenants, i.e. Nicholas Blauncoste, Thomas Burnard, William David, William Bonde, William Johan, John de Melbrok’, Richard Faber and Robert Tof’ and by Nicholas Passelewe and his free tenants, i.e. Robert Passelewe, Robert Astel, Richard son of Thomas, Stephen Prikeofeld and Paganus de Forde that the said Abbot, Prior and convent shall for ever have their pasture of Kyngesmade from 1st March each year until such a time as the hay has been carried without undue delay.
