- Scope and ContentRemoval Order and settlement examination for Sarah Cross, singlewoman. Removed from Roxton to Eaton Socon. Certificate of Chargeability by Bedford Board of Guardians certifying that Sarah Cross, singlewoman became chargeable on 9th August 1845. Signed William Shove Chalk, Chairman and Samuel Wing , Clerk. Examination of Charle James Metcalf, Overseer of Roxton stating that Sarah Cross, singlewoman was chargeable to the parish and did not have legal settlement there. Examination of Samuel Wing producing the following examinations: Settlement examination of Sarah Cross, singlewoman, at present residing in the workhouse of the Bedford Union: I am about 19 years of age and am a singlewoman. I am now relieved in the workhouse of the Bedford Union previous to which I was residing in the parish of Roxton in the County of Bedford. I am the person mentioned in the Certificate produced by Samuel Wing. Examination of Sarah Cross, wife of George Cross residing at Chawston in the parish of Roxton: I am the wife of George Cross to whom I was lawfully married on the 1st January 1804 in the parish church of Eynesbury in the County of Huntingdon by my maiden name of Sarah Starling. Sarah Cross, singlewoman, now present is my daughter the issue of my said marriage. I was delievred of my said daughter and she was born in the house of my said husband then situate in the parish of Eaton Socon in the County of Bedford on 21st day of January 1826. Memorandum of documents above sent 13th September 1845 to the Overseers of Eaton Socon.
