    Removal Order for Jane Redman, wife of William Redman. Removed from Bolnhurst to Houghton Conquest. Certificate of Chargeability by Board of Guardians of the Bedford Union stating that Jane Redman, wife of William Redman, had been chargeable to Bolnhurst from 18th October 1844. Signed Charles Longuet Higgins, Chairman & Samuel Wing, Clerk. Examination of Mark Walmsley, Overseer of the Poor of Bolnhurst, stating that Jane Redman, wife of William Redman was chargeable to the parish but had no settlement there and requesting her removal to the place of her last legal settlement. Settlement examination of Jane Redman, wife of William Redman: I am the wife of William Redman. I was married to him in the parish church of Houghton Conquest in the County of Bedford on 11th October 1842 by my then maiden name of Jane Cook, spinster. My husband is beyond the sea he is transported for felony by order of the Court of Assize holden for the County of Bedford in the month of March last for the term of 15 years. My husband did no act to my knowledge to gain a settlement in his own right. I am now residing in the workhouse at the charge of the parish of Bolnhurst in the County of Bedford previous to which I was inhabiting in the said parish of Bolnhurst. I am the person mentioned in the Certificate of Chargeability now produced. The examination of Elizabeth Redman, wife of Joseph Redman of the parish of Houghton Conquest, County of Bedford, labourer: William Redman the husband of Jane Redman now present is my son by my husband Joseph Redman to whom I was married in the parish church of Houghton Conquest in the county of Bedford upward of 29 years ago by my then maiden name of Elizabeth Kempson, spinster. I was delivered of my said son William Redman in the month of May 1820 and he was born in the house of my said husband in the parish of Houghton Conquest in the County of Bedford . The said William Redman has gained no settlement in his own right. Memorandum stating copies of the above sent to the Overseers of Houghton Conquest 29th October 1844.
