    Manor of Eaton Bray with the Members conditional surrender by way of mortgage by William Mead of Leighton Buzzard, carpenter, eldest son and heir of William Mead late of Leighton Buzzard, carpenter and joiner, deceased (who was son of William Mead of Eaton Bray Elizabeth, his wife) for £115 at 5% interest to John Grant and Edward Lawford, both of Leighton Buzzard, merchants, by the hands of Thomas Ashwell and William Groom, customary tenants of (a) messuage in Eaton Bray formerly in the occupation of William Mead, then John Jeffs and Richard Scott, now Michael Puddefoot and James Godfrey; (b) four butts of arable lying on the backside in the occupation of Daniel Ellingham - indorsed with acknowledgement of receipt of £141 in full discharge from William Mead (via Thomas Burr) by Edward Lawford for Grant & Lawford on 7 December 1832.
