- Scope and ContentRemoval order for Mary Jarvis, Widow, from Wilden to Bolnhurst. Certificate of Chargeability from the Board of Guardians of the Bedford Union stating that Mary Jarvis, widow, had been chargeable since 25th May 1844. Signed William Shove Chalk & Samuel Wing. Examination of John Sabey, Overseer of Wilden, stated that Mary Jarvis was inhabiting Wilden but had no legal settlement there. Examination of Mary Jarvis, presently residing at Wilden, County of Bedford: My Uncle Thomas Munn late of the parish of Bolnhurst in the County of Bedford at the date of his last will and testament and thenceto and at the time of his death held as tenant from year to year of John Coventry of Bedford Esquire (since deceased) and as such tenant was possessed of a messuage, farm and lands in the said parish of Bolnhurst and the term and estate of my said uncle in the premises as tenant thereof aforesaid was not determined by notice or otherwise up to the time of his death. My said Uncle having such term and estate in such messuage farm and lands as aforesaid by his last will and testament in writing bearing date 17th May 1833 (the probate whereof was under the seal of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury is now produced to me and to the said Justices taking the examination) bequeathed certain legacies therein mentioned not affecting the said term and estate otherwise that as hereinafter mentioned ab subject to the payment of such legacies and the said testators just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses. he gave and bbequathed all his ready money and securities for money, household goods, furniture and farming stock and effects and all the rest and residue of his personal estate to me and to my son Thomas Jarvis equally to be dividedus. He appointed his landlord John Coventry and John Maynard of Bedford, wheelwright executors. My uncle died on 24th May1833 and his will was proved 14th October following. At the time of my Uncles death I and my said son resided in the parish of Bolnhurst and after his death became possessed of the farm and continued to be possessed of it until November 1836 when we surrendered and quitted possession. I resided at the said farm for 40 days and upwards viz from the time of my Uncles death until November 1836. I am now inhabiting in Wilden and am the person mentioned in the certificate of chargeability. Copy order of removal with note on verso from Overseers of Bolnhurst accepting her as an inhabitant of their parish without her actual removal. 13 November 1844.
