Certificate of chargeability signed by Samuel Wing stating that Dorcas Ann Huckle and her child Elizabeth aged one year had become chargeable on the 15th February last. Examination of Dorcas Ann Huckle: I am about 30 years of age and am a singlewoman. A little before old Michaelmas Day in the year 1832 being then an unmarried person not having child or children I was hired into the parish of St Paul in the Borough of Bedford in the County of Bedford by Mrs Sarah Gamby of the same parish, pawnbroker as her household servant for one year to commence from Old Michaelmas Day in the same year at the wages of five pounds and my board and lodging. I entered Mrs Gambys service as agreed upon a day or two before Old Michaelmas Day 1832 and from that time I continued and abided in the same service for the space of one whole year, that is to say until Old Michaelmas Day 1833 and I resided in my said mistresses house in the said parish of St Paul for the whole period of my service. I have one child viz Elizabeth born on 18th October 1843 at the house of my brother John Huckle at Cotton End in the township of Eastcotts. I am ill and confined to my bed and I and my said child are now actually chargeable to the township of Eastcotts in the parish of Cardington in the County of Bedford.
