    Removal order for Lucy Turner from St Mary-le-bone, County of Middlesex to the hamlet of Radwell in the parish of Pavenham. Order suspended as Lucy unable to travel due to being in an advanced state of pregnancy. Examination of Lucy Turner of the workhouse in the parish of St Marylebone in the County of Middlesex and of Mary Turner of the Campton in the County of Bedford touching the settlement of the said Lucy Turner taken on oath before me one of the Magistrates of the Police Courts of the Metropolis sitting at the Police Court in the High Street in the parish of St Marylebone within the Metropolitan Police District 6th March 1844. Who severally say and forst the said Lucy Turner says - I am 25 years of age and have never been married. I have done no act to gain a settlement in my own right and I am now actually chargeable to the said parish of St Marylebone. Mary Turner says - I was married to Thomas Turner in the parish church of Campton in the County of Bedford about 45 years ago, the said Lucy Turner is the lawful issue of that marriage. My said husband died in the month of August 1835. My said late husband acquired a legal settlement in the hamlet of Radwell in the parish of Felmersham in the County of Bedford by having lived previous to his marriage (and having no child or children) as a hired yearly servant with Mr Swannell, a farmer of the said Hamlet of Radwell for one year and upwards. A few weeks after my marriage I and my said husband were removed by the Officers of the said parish of Campton to the said hamlet of Radwell as the place of our settlement. I have been relieved as an acknowledged parishioner of the said hamlet of Radwell while residing in the parishof campton. I now receive the sum of two shillings weekly from the officers of the said parish of Radwell. Since my marriage neither my said late husband nor myself have done any act to acquire a settlement.
