    Note: Sir John Trevor (D.N.B.) was son-in-law of John Hampden, and father of Thomas Trevor, who bought Bromham in 1708, and was created Baron Trevor of Bromham 1712; and grandfather of Robert Trevor, who inherited the Hampden estates in 1754, succeeded as Baron Trevor 1764, and was created Viscount Hampden 1776. Sir John Trevor (died 1672) was sent to France in 1668 with special powers to negotiate. His mission may have been part of negotiations leading to the Treaty of Dover in 1670.
