The barn in Wood End in the manor of Westoning, and 29 acres of arable land in the common fields of Westoning known as North Hill, King’s Hill and Stocking; and also Barn Close (3 acres), Grass Close (5 acres) and Tingery Close (3 acres) and a moiety of two meadows called Pignell and Flake (2 acres) for four years for an annual rent of £16 plus the sum of £4 a year for every acre subsequently converted to ploughland. Witnesses: Henry Hunt, R Bartlett. On dorse: Agreement by Daniel Atkins senior of Eaton Bray [?scrivener], William [-] Gutteridge of Tillsworth, husbandman, Henry Atkins of Bournend in the parish of Norchurch [Northchurch, Berkhamstead], Hertfordshire, blacksmith, to lease from Lady Lempster the above lands, and the messuages and lands now in the possession of Mathew ?Ranst for three years, for annual rent of £56. They further agree to execute a counterpart lease, and to enter into bond for £100 to perform covenants in the said lease.
