And the said holding was rendered into the hand of the lady because of lack of a tenant. And the bailiff was ordered to be responsible to the lady for the profits. Heriot j [1] cow valued at iiijs [4s] and half a pig valued at xijd [12d], the bailiff is answerable, fealty And that Thomas Tayllour who held one cottage and half a virgate of land from the lady, according to the custom of the Manor, closed his existence after the day of the last Court, after whose death a new heriot of one cow valued at iiijs [4s] and half a pig valued at xijd [12d] falls due to the lady and so sold by Joan, wife of the said Thomas. And afterwards the said Joan came and she claimed to hold the said holding, according to the custom of the Manor. And it was granted to her. And she made fealty. Heriot j [1] bullock valued at vijs [7s] and one heifer valued at xld [40d] rendered to the bailiff, fealty And that Nicholas Tele who held two Messuages and two half virgates of land from the lady, according to the custom of the Manor, closed his existence after the day of the last Court. Following whose death a new heriot of one bullock valued at vijs [7s] and one heifer valued at xld [40d] falls due to the lady, and so were sold by Alice, wife of the said Nicholas, and the bailiff was answerable. And afterwards the said Alice came and claimed to hold the said holdings from the lady, according to the custom of the Manor, and they were granted to her. And she made fealty. Heriot one cow valued at vs [5s], the bailiff is answerable, [illegible, torn edge] And that John Watte who held one Messuage and half a virgate of land from the lady closed his existence after the day of the last Court. After whose death a new heriot of one cow valued at vs [5s] fell due to the lady. And remains in the hand of the bailiff, who is answerable to the lady. And no-one came to claim the said holding and therefore it was taken into the hand of the lady and so remained because of lack of tenant. [Heading torn off] And that Walter Yarwey who held one Messuage and half a virgate of land from the lady, according to the custom of the Manor, closed his existence after the day of the last Court. After whose death a heriot of one bullock valued at xijs [12s] fell due to the lady, and remained in the keeping of the bailiff, answerable to the lady. And the said holding remained in the hand of the lady because of lack of a tenant and the bailiff was answerable for the profits. [Heading torn off] and that Nicholas iijd [3d] Shaxton felled wood without permission from the holding that he holds from the lady and they present that same Nicholas received timber from the keeper of the wood of the Schyre for the repairs to his buildings and has still not put the said wood in repairs. Therefore he is amerced. And he was ordered to put the said wood in repairs before next Easter following, under a penalty of xld [40d]. Grant, entry fine xijd [12d] fealty Isabell Cartere came to this Court and surrendered into the hand of the lady one Messuage and half a virgate of land and nothing falls due as heriot to the lady, and no heriot of the virgates after her death. And on this Robert Akirman came he took the said holding from the lady. To be held from the lady by roll of Court, according to the custom of the Manor. Rendering therefrom a year the due services and customs. And the said Robert will sustain, repair and put right the said tenement at his own expense and he has provided pledges, that is to say John Gabriel and Thomas Heryng. And he gave xijd [12d] to the lady as entry fine. And he made fealty. Amercement ijd [2d] penalty raised William Webbe of Welyngton who acknowledges himself to be in debt to Thomas Ivel for vs ijd [5s 2d] for one bullock granted from him in the eighth and ninth year of the reign of Henry [30 Sept 1406 to 29 Sept 1408] is at mercy. And he was ordered to raise the same aforesaid for the use of the aforesaid Thomas, at the same time with damage assessed at vjd [6d]. And he is ordered to raise the said tax in instalments of ijd [2d] for the use of the aforesaid Simon Amercement ijd [2d] John Carter [illegible] was ordered to be amerced and to raise it with a pledge from Joan Myton in the plea of debt [Torn edge, no heading] Matilda Yarwey acknowledges a debt to Elena Aylbryght of ixs iiijd [9s 4d] for a brewing bought from her and is at mercy. And she is ordered to raise the debt with damages in terms of iiijd [4d] for the use of the said Elena. John Storge who has not prosecuted John Bande in the plea of debt and is at mercy, by the pledge of Robert Akirman John Gostwyke and John Bande who recognize their debt of xd [10d] to John Storge who undertook to pay to John Brakewell. They are amerced and were ordered to raise the aforesaid sum with damages in terms of jd [1d] for the use of John Storge John Placere who was amerced for a plea of debt by John Bedynhampton by the pledge of William Rydere The xij [12] sworn men present that the tithing men, constables, and ale tasters presented well and faithfully and concealed nothing.
