- Scope and ContentRecites: (A) Covenant dated 30 June 1687: said Elizabeth Spencer (by name of Elizabeth Wells, widow of John Wells junior of Leighton Buzzard, draper) to said Thomas Wells. Elizabeth Wells empowers Thomas Wells to receive to his own use all debts due to her, and Thomas Wells covenants to pay off all creditors of John Wells. (B) Bond dated 10 December 1683, by which the estate of the said John Wells was indebted to John Wells senior of Leighton Buzzard and wife Anne, in the sum of £100. Elizabeth Wells covenants to execute a warrant empowering attornies in King's Bench to receive a declaration at the suit of John Spencer and wife Elizabeth against herself as administratix of Thomas Wells in an action of covenant for £100, and to plead 'Non sum informatus Lett Judgement passe', or otherwise confess the said action. John Spencer covenants to pay the costs of the suit.
