- Scope and ContentCotton pretty but dark, prefer one of the new manufactory which are cotton both ways - lighter, & colours more lively. Mrs. Lenox managed badly to have so many joinings in the "polenese". Fanny mends daily; Sophia ill yesterday but better today. Look forward to Christmas. Enclose £10 - please buy white satin for petticoats at 6/6 yd. or 7/-, & persian enough to go at the bottom of the polenese; also 3 doz. white gimp, narrow & edged on both sides. A spare-rib of a pig, of own fattening, will accompany this. Mrs Russell. Visit from Mrs.Hampden & Mrs & Mrs. John Trevor. Have taken Ampthill girl on Miss Cardale's recommendation, works well, wish it may continue.
