- Scope and ContentRobert Nicholl Davison: a draper and grocer living in Sandy. On 13 August the prisoner entered his employment as a milliner at the draper’s shop. On 13 September he suspected her of having robbed him, and on 14 September he went into her bedroom. In her wardrobe he found a parcel tied up containing articles belonging to him. He tied up the parcel again and replaced it, and then following morning gave the information to the police. He went with PC Watts to the prisoner’s bedroom in the company of the prisoner. They found the parcel but the goods had been removed. He asked the prisoner where the goods were that he had seen the previous night and was told they were in her box. The princess unlocked the box and gave him the articles. James Watts: a police constable stationed at Sandy. On 15 September he went to Mr Davison’s shop where he charged prisoner. He went o the prisoner’s bedroom and the prisoner unlocked her box and the goods were identified by Davison. The prisoner said her head had gone queer that week and that made her do it. She was taken to Biggleswade Police Station. Statement of the accused: her head had been bad owing to an accident.
