Scope and Content
Thanks for favour through His Grace. Difficulties over sale of household goods. Mr. Hardacre was entitled to the greatest part of the whole year's rent for the small tithes (the hay being all severed and the wool all tithable before his death. Hopes Edmund Williamson would have allowed her an equitable part for the year 1740 - at least two-thirds. Dilapidations. Shall rely on Duke's goodness. When Mr. Hardacre entered, he allowed the former incumbent's widow above £100, besides paying all dues & building most part of the house new. Edmund Williamson's complaints of the fence and of her stripping the house unfounded. [Relates to Millbrook.]
