    Removal order. Examination of William Arnsby at present residing in the Cambridge Union workhouse, being too ill to attend to be examined by two Justices upon his oath saieth: I am about 46 years old and married. my wife and one child are now at Hatherston in Warwickshire. In the year 1815=6 I was hired and did contract and engage to serve one Robert Wilkin Robinson if High Street, St Paul, Bedford, grocer and tallow chandler, as a yearly servant for one year at the wages of thirty pounds a year with board and lodging. I served him for one year under that hiring and received a full years wages. I slept and boarded in my master's house which was situate in High Street in the said parish of St Paul all the time. I was then unmarried and without child or chidlren. I continued with him after the first hiring 6 or 7 years, the last 3 years of my service I had five and thirty pounds a year with Board and lodging. I have done no act to gain a subsequent settlement and am now chargeable to the parish of St Andrew the Less in the Borough of Cambridge. I did not marry until after I had left Robinson. I have had relief from St Paul's parish whilst being at Lynn in the County of Norfolk about 10 years ago I received relief for six months. Mr Robinson is now living at Bedford. Information and complaint of George Wallis Brown, Assistant Overseer of the Poor of the parish of St Andrew the Less, Borough of Cambridge: William Arnsby formerly of the parish of St Paul in the Borough of Bedford has lately come to inhabit in the said parish of St Andrew the Less, not having gained any legal settlement there and is now chargeable thereto and complainant prays he may be removed to the parish of St Pauls where he legally belongs. Produces certificate of chargeability [interleaved]. Second copy of removal order, suspended as William Arnsby too sick or infirm to travel. Suspension lifted 25th August 1843.
