    Examination of Elizabeth Mee of kettering touching on the settlement of Rebecca Yorke the illegitimate child of Sarah Yorke, widow: Sarah Yorke the late daughter of Examinat was the wife and afterwards the widow of Matthew Yorke late of Yelden in the County of Bedford, farmer, who died six years ago last August. Rebecca Yorke the pauper who is of the age of five years and was born a year and four moths after the death of the said Matthew Yorke is the illegitimate daughter of the said Sarah yorke. The said Sarah Yorke died on the 8th day of February instant and her said child is now chargeable to the parish of Kettering. Matthew Yorke was a settled inhabitant of Yelden in the County of Bedford where he rented and occupied a considerable farm of several hundred acres and of course at a rent very much above ten pounds a year. Examination of John Fox Lumell, Relieving Officer of Kettering District of the Kettering Poor Law Union: Rebecca Yorke the pauper referred to in the foregoing examination has been chargeable to the parish of Kettering for ten weeks past and is now chargeable to the same parish.
