    Second copy of removal order with agreement from the Overseers of Milton Ernest to accept him. Certificate stating that Edward Edwards had entered Bedford Union Workhouse on 12th January 1843. Statement of John Harris, overseer of St Paul that Edward Edwards had become chargeable to that parish. Examination of Samuel Wing, Clerk to the Board of Guardians of the Poor of Bedford Union, verifying the above. Examination of Edward Edwards: I am about 19 years of age. I have done no act to my knowledge to gain a settlement in my own right. I am the person mentioned in the certificate of chargeability. Examination of Marvel Edwards: The above named Edward Edwards is my son by my late wife Susanna formerly Susanna Woodward, spinster, to whom I was lawfully married at the parish church of St John, Bedford on 1st May 1820. I am a settled inhabitant of the parish of Milton Ernest. In February 1824 I became chargable to the parish of St Paul, Bedford and with my late wife Susanna and my two children Mary and my said son Edward then an infant unbaptised was by the order of Justices now produced by Mr Samuel Wing rem,oved from St Paul to Milton Ernest and delivered to the overseers there by Mr George Potto then Governor of the Bedford House of Industry. The Overseers of Milton Ernest received and provided for us. My son Edward is the person mentioned in the said order as an infant son seven days old. There was an appeal from the order of removal heard at Bedfordshire Midsummer Quarter Sessions and the order was confirmed upon the appeal
