    Thomas Edwin: he knew the prisoner as he was in the habit of comng into Mr Sears grocery shop in Leighton Buzzard for goods. He came to the shop on 10 December and asked for a pound of biscuits for Mr Abrahams, a customer. It was to be charged to Mr Abraham. The biscuits were supplied and taken away. There were 2 Mr Abrahams and it was the senior one which dealt with the shop. The prisoner had never bought anything on his own account. John Henry Abrahams: the prisoner was in his father’s employment and lived in his house. He was not sent for goods at Mr Sear’s shop. William Abrahams: a gardener at Leighton Buzzard and had employed the prisoner for 2 years. He had left work on the afternoon of 10 December without his consent. He had never been sent to Mr Sear’s shop for anything. On 12 December he received information the accused was in Dunstable. He advised the police in St Albans and met the prisoner on his return between Redbourne and Market Street. He gave him into custody. Statement of the accused – John Weston: nothing to say.
