- Scope and ContentExamination of Ann Tucker: I am the widow of William Tucker who died 23rd october last and to whom I was lawfully married in the parish church of St John in this Borough in October 1811. My deceased husband never did any act to my knowledge to gain a settlement in his own right. I have heard and believe that my deceased husband was bornin wedlock and that his father was settled in the parish of Bromham by parentage. After the death of my husband's father his mother came to live with us in the parish of St Cuthbert, Bedford and during that time was regularly received by the Overseers of Bromham with one shilling per week until she was admitted to the workhouse at Biddenham Ford End where she was maintained at the chathe of the pariosh oc Bromham until her death and was buried in the church yard of St Cuthbert and the expenses thereof were paid by the Overseers of Bromham. About 27 years ago my husband was ill and for some time unable to work and though residing in the parish of St Cuthbert applied to the Overseers of Bromham for relief and he was relieved bby them for some time. About 15 years ago I was ill and my husband again applied to the Overseers of Bromham who relieved us with 20 shillings and at that time we were residing in St Cuthbert. I am now actually chargeable to the parish of St Cuthbert.
