    Assignment of 99 Year Lease Parties: (i) Olyver Boteler of Ware Park [Hertfordshire], gentleman, son of Olyver Boteler, late of Ware Park, deceased; Humfrey Newton of Lincolns Inn [Middlesex], esquire, son of Humfrey Newton, late of Cauldwell, Bedford, esquire, deceased; John Newton, clerk and Eleanor Newton, spinster, two other children of Humfrey Newton the elder; (ii) Richard Auncell of Bedford, gentleman Reciting: - family settlement for 99 years of (a)-(e) on 4 July 1640 from (1) Humfrey Newton the elder; William Doughtie of Lincolns Inn, gentleman; Thomas Doughtie, gentleman (brother of William); Sir William Boteler of Biddenham; Richard Taylor of Clapham, sergeant at law; Thomas Rolt of Milton Ernest to (2) Anne Lee of London, widow; - demise for 98 years, 11 months, 3 weeks, 3 days of 10 July 1640 from (1) Anne Lee to (2) Humfrey Newton the elder with power of re-entry of (2) did not pay £1,080; - the money was not repaid and Anne Lee re-entered the premises and after the death of Humfrey Newton, deceased, made an assignment on 18 February 1647 [1648] with Humfrey Newton the younger and John and Eleanor Newton to Olyver Boteler the younger of (a)-(e) Operative Part: - (ii) paid £303/16/- to Humfrey Newton; - (ii) paid 6d. to Olyver Boteler; - Olyver Boteler assigned (a)-(e) to (ii) Property: (a) close of pasture called Roomer alias Roo Meade containing 12 acres abutting S on highway from Bedford to Elstow; (b) a piece of arable of 8 acres in Muzzell Field alias Moswell Field abutting: E on land of the dissolved Hospital of Saint Leonard; N and NW on the highway from Bedford to Ampthill; part S on Roomer alias Roo Meade; part S on land of Thomas Peirson of Elstow formerly belonging to Cauldwell Priory; part S on land formerly of the Hospital of Saint John the Baptist; (c) 31 selions of arable (two of which were gores) containing together 15½ acres in Coneygree Field alias Barksditch Field abutting: E on other land assigned; part W on land of Saint John’s Hospital “a baulk parting them”; part W on Procession Baulk forming the boundary between Bedford and Kempston; N on the highway from Bedford to Kempston; part S on land formerly of Cauldwell Priory; part S on Bell Acre; part S on land formerly of Saint John’s Hospital; (d) 7 acres of arable in Hole Field abutting: N and E on land formerly of Saint John’s Hospital; S on land formerly of Elstow Abbey; (e) 3 acres in Hole Field abutting: E on a ten acre piece formerly of Cauldwell Priory; part S on land formerly of Saint John’s Hospital; N on highway from Bedford to Elstow; (f) 2½ acres of arable in Hole Field abutting: N on (e); S on highway from Kempston to Fenlake; W on land formerly of Saint Leonard’s Hospital “a baulk parting them”; part E on land formerly of Saint John’s Hospital; part E on land of Thomas Peirson of Elstow formerly belonging to Cauldwell Priory Witnesses: - William Farrer; - Thomas Newton; - Oliver Rands; - George Bromley junior; - G.
