    Examination of Sophia Burt and Elizabeth Burt: Sophia Burt saieth that she is the widow of Robert Burt who died on 9th December 1838. She was married to her said late husband at St Giles Cripplegate 22nd April 1831, and that she hath three children, lawful issue of such marriage namely Lucy aged 7, Frederick aged 5 years and Walter aged 3 years, herself and her three children are now chargeable to and relieved by the Parish of Lambeth. Elizabeth Burt saieth that the aforesaid deceased Robert Burt is Examinants lawful son by her late husband Thomas Burt (deceased). Robert Burt never did any act or deed to gain a settlement in his own right, his last legal settlement is in the parish of St Paul, Bedford, which settlement he derives from his father, Examinant's said deceased husband Thomas Burt. Thomas Burt rented and occupied a house situate in High Street, St paul, Bedford during ten years or thereabouts and tyhe yearly rent of ten pounds upwards which he paid besides the taxes and levies in respect thereof. Her said late husband quitted the said house about 22 years ago and never afterwards acquired a settlement. This Examinant further saieth that her said son Robert was unemancipated during more than two years of the term of her said late husbands rental and occupation of the house in High Street aforesaid.
