Scope and Content
Recites Will of Sir Coventry Payne ( died 9 August 1874). Recites Trustee of all real estate upon trust to raise by mortgage enough money to pay Henrietta Anna Maria Payne (later Townsend) £500pa. Recites dispute over furniture and linen etc at Wootton House; agreed 1) should not have power of sale but that they should stay at Wootton House. Recites no Mortgage was ever raised of the Reversionary estate because the net income has never been sufficient to pay the annuity. Recites that the furniture and effects were valued at £2000; agreed that 1) pays to H A M Townsend £60pa by way of interest at 3% had been paid until her death. Recites death of Henrietta Anna Maria Townsend on 20 March 1913. By her Will vested everything in younger son 2) above when 21. Recites no security ever given for payment of £60 pa. Present deed designed to secure that sum with capital of £1500. Manors, messuages, farms, lands etc at Wootton, subject to Mortgage of 19 July 1880. Clause about insurance of buildings by 1).
