- Scope and ContentFrancis William Maddams of Biggleswade - he works in his father’s grocer’s shop. Mar Thompson the surgeon deals with them. On 9 April between 8 and 9pm Frederick Clarke came to the shop and asked him for 2 lbs of best mixed biscuits for Dr Thompson. He supplied them. Clarke said he was in a hurry as there was a party there. The biscuits are worth 2s. John Thompson of Biggleswade, surgeon - he knows Clarke by sight. Clarke has been employed by his partner but not by himself. He did not send him for the biscuits. He did not want any and Clarke did not bring them to his house. The first he heard of it was a bill two days later. Frederick Clarke - he begs pardon and will not do so any more. He would not have done so then if he had known.
