Letter from James Lilburne to John Hawkins referring to his estimates sent on 30 October [Z 575/529]; the corn has turned out so bad that returns will not be as mentioned. He must take Richard Thody (put in possession of Hardwick Farm by John Hawkins) away to his usual employment and wishes him to be replaced by William Waller. With a reply from John Hawkins saying that Mr Williams and Mr Wortham (Mr Partridge's solicitors) wish the balance in Mr Pearse's hands should be paid to James Lilburne, and that Mr Williams has 'expressed himself obliged by your conduct in the business'. Has he sold the tares? He will send or come over when enough corn is thrashed for appraisment.
