- Scope and ContentFrederick Thomas of Luton – he is 14 years old and a pupil at the College, Luton. He knows the pencil case now produced is his. It has a scent box on the top of it. It is worth 5s. He left it in his best clothes in his waistcoat pocket on 27 February. When he went to bed at night they went away to be brushed. He did not see it again until Inspector James showed it to him on 11 March. Henry Wright, principal of the College at Luton – Sinfield was in his employ on 27 February and had the clothes of the pupils handed out to him to brush. George James, Inspector of Police at Luton – on Saturday 5 March while searching Sinfield on another charge he found the pencil case now produced in his left hand trousers pocket. Sinfield said it was his and he did not steal it. Frederick Sinfield – does not wish to say anything.
