Scope and Content
Probate and copy will of William Faldo of Bedford, merchant:
- devising all his real estate in Goldington to his brother Peter;
- bequeathing to his brother Peter all his stock in trade of coal, deal, iron, salt and other merchandize together with book debts and their securities;
- charging his real and personal estate with payment of his debts, annuities and legacies which, if Peter neglected, invalidated the devise and bequest to him;
- bequeathing an annuity of £15 to be paid by Peter to their brother Robert of [King's] Lynn [Norfolk];
- bequeathing to his sister Rebeccah Dillingham an annuity of £5 to be paid by their brother Peter;
- bequeathing £10 each to the two daughters of Rebeccah Dillingham when they became 21;
- bequeathing £10 to his sister Elizabeth;
- bequeathing £11 to Joan Gaines, widow;
- bequeathing £10 to Mrs. Vipan of Sutton Gault [Cambridgeshire];
- bequeathing all the ale with the vessels and bottles in his cellar;
- bequeathing to his two sisters Rebeccah and Elizabeth all his household goods as long as they gave four of his best shirts to his brother Robert;
- bequeathing the residue of his estate to his brother Peter;
- appointing his cousin Thomas Faldo of Newnham, Goldington, gentleman, his sole executor;
- witnessed by Thomas Bowers, John Grey and Thomas Sheppard;
- administration granted on 20 February 1735 in the Archdeaconry of Bedford to Peter Faldo after Thomas Faldo renounced executorship
