Said that he had bought the lead and given near a penny a pound for it. He thought it his duty to do so and thought that if he was pulled up for it, he could not be hurt for paying under value for it. He bought half a dozen rabbit skins at the same time. He was not aware it was stolen and if he had, he would have had noting to do with it.
