- Scope and ContentHe is an auctioneer living at Biggleswade. Last Monday he was employed by Mr Jeremiah Rosher to conduct a sale of his farming stock and effects at the Highlands. Lot 24, consisting of a cream can, a tin bowl, a skimmer, a funnel, a quart pot, a pint pot and a half pint pot were knocked down to William Marston for 8s. The following Wednesday Mr Marston came to pay for his goods. He stated that he could not find Lot 24, but paid for them on condition that the goods should be forthcoming or the money returned. He asked his man Moseley to search for them. Moseley brought them to his house yesterday evening and this morning. Mr Blunden the police superintendent came to his house to inquire into the circumstances. Blunden said he would fetch Sharp the policeman. While he was eating breakfast in his room adjoining the shop one of his children called out that the policeman was taking the tins away. He saw Sharp going across the market hill with the tins under his arm. He has no doubt the articles produced are those he sold to Marston, except the half pint pot.
