- Scope and ContentAnn Dibham: she was at Dunstable market when Mrs Lucke gave the prisoner into custody. She asked Mrs Lucke the charge and she said she had lost a pair of shoes. She asked if Lucke had seen them taken and Lucke said she had accused a woman but had not seen her take them. She saw the prisoners sister put 5 shillings in her hand and heard the prisoner say she didn't want the money as she never had the shoes. She again asked Mrs Lucke if she had seen the woman take the shoes and she said she had not. Dibham was no relation of the prisoner and had not seen her before. Mary Staff: she asked Mrs Lucke if she had seen the woman take the boots and she said she had not. She saw Mrs Dibham there and heard her ask Mrs Lucke the same question and received the same response. John White: lived at Chalk Hill and was at Dunstable market. He asked Mrs Lucke's daughter if she saw the woman take the shoe and she said no. Mrs Lucke was not there when he asked the question.
