- Scope and ContentJohn Neal: an assistant to Mr John Langridge, a grocer of Dunstable. On 22 June he was showed 2 tubs but Constable Brooker which he believed to be his master’s property. He had put them in his master’s back yard about a week previous. Susannah Deacon: a married woman of Dunstable. On the morning of 22 June, she saw Thomas Cook go into Mr Langridge’s back yard. She saw him come out with 2 tubs. She challenged him but he went off with them. Thomas Brooker: he found Thomas Cook at the Cock beer shop at Dunstable. He was in the Tap room and the 2 tubs were standing outside the door. He asked Cook if they belonged to him and he said he had picked them up in the White Horse yard, which is the adjoining yard to Mr Langridge's. Cook was taken into custody.
