  • Scope and Content
Sarah Nicholson the mother of these Examinants was married to James Nicholson their father at Hertford the year 1804. James Nicholson died about 20 years ago. Sarah Nicholson hath not since married but is now the widow of James Nicholson. Since the decease of James Nicholson, Sarah Nicholson rented and occupied a house in High Street, St Paul, Bedford in which she resided for upwards of two years, and paid above £20 per annum rent for the same. Examinants further say that since such rental and occupation Sarah Nicholson came to reside and has since lived in lodgings in London. During her residence in Westminster having applied to St Paul for relief the Parish Officers of St Paul did for a year and a half whilst Sarah Nicholson resided in the City of Westminster remit to and allow Sarah Nicholson relief at and after rate of 2 shillings per week. Sarah Nicholson hath done no act to gain a subsequent settlement and is now chargeable to St Margaret, Westminster.
