  • Scope and Content
He went into the House after his day's work to hang his key up as he generally does and Toll asked him to drink. They drank one pint, and then had three more, and then 3 quarts. He went out of doors to go home two or three minutes before him and stood making water. Toll came and stumbled against him. They went down the close. Toll undid his breeches and let them fall down and pulled his apron off and then pulled his frock off and his rule tumbled out of his pocket in the close - he picked it up. He meant to put the rule in Toll's pocket but he put it in his own. His frock was off - he had one off and one on. The tobacco box lay on the top of the hay in the barn. He felt about and found it against Toll's feet.
