He was born at Chellington where his father lived and was a parishioner. he is about 38 years of age. At Michaelmas 1790 he let himself to Thomas Whitworth of Harrold, farmer, for a year at the wages of three pounds and he went into such service the day after Old Michaelmas 1790 and continued there until the Old Michaelmas Day following and received the whole of his wages. At Dropshort Statute 1791 he let himself to John Brooks of Emberton, County of Buckingham, farmer, for a year at the wages of four pounds. He went to Mr Brooks on the day after Old Michaelmas Day 1791 and continued with him until the day after Old Michaelmas Day 1792 when he received the whole of his wages. He then went into the Bedfordshire Militia and continued therein about five years during which time he was married at Carlton to Elizabeth Hull since deceased by whom he has three children now living. He was last Tuesday 16 April 1816 married at St Paul, Bedford to Sarah Lilley. He has not done any other act than the above to the best of his knowledge whereby to gain a settlement.
