He was born at Bridgenorth in Shropshire. He is 20 years of age this Christmas. He lived with his father Thomas Buttery til he was 17 years of age. On 15th January 1813 he let himself to James Gilbertson of All Saints, Hertford, grocer at the wages of seven guineas a year but to quit on either party giving the other a months wages or a months warning. He went into the said service of the next day (16th January) and continued in such service til the 15th day of January 1814 without either of them giving notice to quit or leave. This deponent received the whole of his wages by quarterly payments. he was yesterday married at St Paul, Bedford to Sophia Wilshire.
