- Scope and ContentRobert Smith: Richard Purton began work for him at Nether Crawley on 17 April and continued working there until 12 June. He went away and came back on 18 September and has been employed there until the present date. Richard Houghton: he first worked with the prisoner in April at Mr Seymour's yard in London Road. He worked with him again at Mr Maldon's in Stopsley and again at Nether Crawley in May. He drove the point of a nail into the trowel in April. Purton sold it to Sear in his presence at the end of May. There had been 5 or 6 of them on the scaffold at nether Crawley at the time. The Park Wall was begun after Christmas. Thomas Martin: he was a work at Nether Crawley when John Sear bought the trowel at the end of May. John Smith: the trowel was bought by John Sear on 26 May for 18 pence. James Martin: was present when John Sear bought the trowel.
