  • Title
Letter from Richard Stough, Clifton, to James Lilburne on the purchase of the estate at Clifton for Mr Olivier junior. A certificate was given to Samuel Whitbread by the minister, churchwardens and overseers stating that Widow Archer was forced to sell in order to support herself, and this Mr Eade must have mislaid or lost. Another should be obtained by Samuel Whitbread's agent. Mr Stough also asks what are the terms on which the tenants hold their cottages, and whether they are under discharge. The conveyance must be made to the Reverend Daniel Josias Olivier of Thornley, Isle of Wight.
