  • Title
Letter from Lawrence Williams, Cursitor Street, to John Hawkins about meeting at Shefford to make a rent settlement. Mr White must not be allowed to remove crops [at Hardwick]. With a letter [?to James Lilburne] saying that Mr Willoughby should be able to meet him in a few days to arrange payment of the rent. Should Mr White attempt to take away any of the crops, Lawrence Williams would like a distress for rent put on him ... 'after what has been said to him I wonder at his impudence'. Lawrence Williams stresses: '... nothing has been done by me or through me that can give any unpleasant feelings to you'.
