    He was born in St Paul, Bedford. He is about 40 years of age. At Michaelmas 1799 he let himself to Edward Wiles of the said parish, miller, as a cowman for a year at wages of six pounds ten shillings. He continued with his master all that year and also the next year at the advanced wages of seven pounds ten shillings and also the following year at further advanced wages to nine pounds. He has not done any other act since that time to the best of his knowledge and belief to gain a settlement. On Monday 10th instant he was married at St Paul, Bedford to Sarah Smith.
