- Scope and ContentJoseph Souster of Leighton Buzzard, grocer - yesterday afternoon he was standing in his shop. He saw Banks open the shop door and take a bottle of pickled walnuts from the counter. Banks ran down the street and he pursued him. Banks threw away the bottle of pickles. He did not pick it up but kept on after Banks and apprehended him. The bottle of pickled walnuts produced is the one that was stolen and is worth 1s. William Yerrell, butcher - about 9pm yesterday he was passing Joseph Souster's shop. He saw Mrs Souster standing at the door. She said someone had stolen a bottle of pickles from the counter and that her husband was in pursuit. He went as quickly as he could in the direction pointed out by Mrs Souster. He found Joseph Souster lying on his back in the gutter and Banks standing close to him in the custory of 2 men named Joseph Adams and James [??]. Joseph Souster asked him to look for a bottle of pickles in the street and he found one about 50 yards from Souster's shop. William Banks - he knows nothing about the matter.
