    Copy of letter from Lawrence Williams to James Lilburne concerning Baker's bankruptcy, the taking of crops from Hardwick Farm by the incoming tenant and Lawrence William's astonishment that men had been put in possession of the crops for the rent. Lawrence Williams explains why he had brought an action to recover Baker's goods sold by the Sheriff for £1419 18s 0d: the Sheriff had undertaken to pay rent owed by Baker from that amount, but according to Lawrence Williams had not done so. At present, only one quarter's rent was due. With a copy of a letter from Lawrence Williams to Samuel Whitbread undertaking to pay the rent due on Hardwick Farm (three quarters) together with the expenses of the distress. Lawrence Williams' offer is conditional on Samuel Whitbread withdrawing the distress. With copies of Z 575/150 and 151.
