- Scope and ContentHe is 23 years of age, born at Clophill where his father Francis Maddams lived and was a parishioner.He let himself to John Horton of Clophill, miller when he was about 17 to learn his trade of a miller, and lived with him for two years. At Michaelmas 1810 he let himself to William Dobson of Sandy for a year as miller at the wages of twenty pounds. He stayed there the whole year and received his full wages. At Michaelmas 1811 he let himself to John Clayton of Castle Mills, Goldington, as miller at the wages of twenty six pounds. He continued as miller til last Michaelmas and received the whole of his wages to that time. He has not done any other act to the best of his knowledge whereby to gain a settlement. He was married last Tuesday at St Paul to Mary Woodroffe, spinster.
