- Scope and ContentEdward Smyth: employed both Triplow & Pooley. He had a quantity of ducks and had lately missed some. About 2 weeks previous he had counted them and found another 2 missing. Richard Larman: George Triplow came to his door in Stotfold and asked him to buy some ducks. He said they were in his coat at the bottom of the garden. Triplow said he had knocked them down in his old master's yard. Larman said he would have nothing to do with them. A day or two later he saw Triplow's father and told him what had taken place. When Triplow had been at the door, Pooley had been standing at the bottom of the garden. James Cox: on the 13 October he had been at Mr Fordham’s brick yard in Stotfold and the prisoner Pooley called him into the stable. He showed him a couple of ducks and asked him to buy them. He bought one of them for a shilling. The following day he saw Pooley again and asked where the ducks were from. He said he had knocked them down in his master's brick yard.
