    He is 30 years of age, was born in Wimmington (Wymington) in the County of Bedford where his father Edward Townrow lived and belonged. About Lady Day 1804 he agreed with Richard Gell of Keysoe, farmer, for the purchase of a house and orchard at Thurleigh for the sum of one hundred and forty five pounds. He paid 45 pounds on account and the remaining 100 he was to pay interest for til he could pay it when it was conveyed, but it was never conveyed to him. He lived in it about four years and a half, and was regularly assessed to the poor rates and other taxes and paid the same. He was rates 3 shillings a rate. Francis Cave the former tenant of the house and orchard paid five pounds a year rent for it. About Lady Day 1808 he sold the house and orchard to Timothy Hawkes who has lived in it ever since this Examinant quitted it. Timothy Hawkes repaid him the forty five pounds and five pounds for his bargain and paid Mr Gell the remainder of the purchase money and took conveyance of the house. He has never done any other act to the best of his knowledge or belief whereby to gain a settlement. He was married at Thurleigh in February 1804 to Jane by whom he has four children namley Edward nine years old, Benjamin aged six years, William aged three years and Elizabeth aged six months.
