- Scope and ContentHe was born in St Mary, Bedford. He is about 30 years of age. His father John Horner then lived and belonged to the said parish. This Examinant went out to service when he was about 14 years of age but never continued in any one place a year til he let himself at St Neots Statute about three weeks before Michaelmas 1802 to Mr Brown of Roxton in the County of Bedford, farmer, for a year at the wages of four pounds. He went to his master at Michelmas Day and continued with him till the Michaelmas Day following and received his whole wages. He then let himself to Mr George Morton of Roxton for a year at wages of five pounds, and went to Mr Mortons service on the day he left Mr Browns. He continued there until June 1804 when he and his master differed and they parted, he receiving the wages then due. He has never done any other act whereby to gain a settlement to the best of his knowledge or belief. He was married at St Cuthbert, Bedford, about three years ago last August to his now wife Rebecca formerly Rebecca Burridge by whom he has one child William about two years of age.
